About
For more than four years, my older sister has been on dialysis, waiting for the call that will bring her life back to, well, normal. Or as close to normal as you can get for someone who has had two kidney transplants, and spent her life in and out of hospitals; someone who has battled Hepatitis C, stopped growing when everyone else sprouted; someone who has lost all concept of life free from a machine.
Meet Sarah.
Sarah is the reason I never say “no” to an opportunity, and fight my hardest for the rights of those who cannot speak for themselves, and why I am determined to help end the wait for organ, tissue and eye transplants across the United States.
So with this blog, I will work hard to be as open and honest with all of you as I share my experiences of searching for Sarah’s kidney. And I hope you will be, too. I will also bring you stories of individuals who have touched me along the way. The organ donor community is incredibly special, one that cares deeply for its members. And for that, I am forever grateful.
So, thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoy what you read.
